The Purple Sunroom

Recently, my daughter and I were talking about finding our tribe. Our "tribe" being those people who were interested in the same things as we are, people who enjoy the same books, and people who want to have real conversations about all of it. We were looking for a tribe of people interested in lifting up others, a group with positive vibes, and one where we can all be honest. I think we may have found our tribe.

My daughter Caroline has a very good friend, Heather, who created a Facebook group called The Purple Sunroom. In her words, "This group is for inspiration and growth. I want everyone to post pictures and stories! Anyone can come here to talk or need advice on anything, personal or everyday life! This won't be for everyone but everyone is welcome. Feel free to post whatever makes you feel happy!!!"

In the short amount of time since the group has been created, we have several admins who will each be responsible for a sort of theme for the day. There will be posts about healthy living and DIY personal care. Some days might be about cooking and recipes. We will have weekly writing prompts. We might read a book together and discuss it. Those are just the general guidelines. If someone feels the need to go a different direction that day, they can. It's a place for personal expression, support, and encouragement.

In the short amount of time since Heather began this group, I'm already really excited about the possibilities. I think that in this day and age, it can be hard to find your "tribe". So many of us feel so disconnected or feel as if no one understands us. I am looking forward to The Purple Sunroom being a place of connection and understanding.
